Community orchard tree planting
Phase 1 has been completed with 24 trees planted in Finche Field with protection in place. It was a fantastic effort by a great team of villagers who all braved the cold.

Mid Sussex Christmas Rubbish and Recycling Collections
Waste and recycling
Collection days will change for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. The local festive collections are as follows:
Thursday 24 December will be collected on Wednesday 23 December
Thursday 31 December will be collected on this day as usual.

Mid Sussex Free parking after 3pm on Saturdays
Free parking after 3pm on Saturdays
Mid Sussex District Council is offering free town centre parking after 3pm on Saturdays in the lead up to Christmas.
National lockdown measures will be lifted on Wednesday 2 December and local shops will be allowed to reopen. Mid Sussex District Council is encouraging people to support local shops and is incentivising the use of car parks during quiet periods.

Take part in the West Sussex Climate Conversation
People in West Sussex are being invited to take part in a survey to find out how Covid-19 restrictions have affected their response to climate change.
The West Sussex Climate Conversation will look at how our behaviour has changed during the pandemic – for example working from home or exploring locally - and how this has affected our local environment.

Kerbside Recycling of Small Electrical Items to start 23rd November 2020
Mid Sussex District Council are to start kerbside recycling of small electrical items starting from 23rd November.
Everything with a plug, battery or cable has the potential to be recycled. If you have an individual kerbside rubbish collection you will be able to recycle old or broken small electrical items at the kerbside. Mid Sussex Bringing Christmas Home
Mid Sussex District Council has created a 'shop local' page on their website to promote the fantastic range of local businesses on the doorstep, many of which have adapted their offering to include online, take-away, click and collect and more.
Businesses can add their details and shoppers will be able to search for special local goodies and support traders and their staff by buying local.

Work started on the Community Orchard
The Parish Council would like to thank the volunteers who braved the weather last Saturday 31 October to help prepare the ground in Finche Field for the Community Orchard.
It was hoped the fruit trees would be planted on Saturday 28th November but please look out for a change to this date due to the recent announcement of a further national lockdown.
