Parish Budget agreed for 2021/22

The Parish Council unanimously agreed the Budget for the next year from April 2021 to March 2022 at the meeting in January. A precept of £76,399 with a Band D increase of 2.9% is the outcome; this is the same increase as Mid Sussex District Council.

Parish Assembly - postponed until May

The Parish Council has agreed to delay the annual Parish Assembly from 01 March to, provisionally, the 10 May. This is in the hope, possibly forlorn, that socially distanced meetings could actually become a reality. Future Parish Council and Committee Meeting

Consultation on taking a loan from the Public Works Loan Board

West Hoathly Parish Council wish to know whether the community support the Parish Council taking out a loan to a maximum value of £20,000 repayable over 10 years to fund the Community Archive Project, creating a purpose-built archive store in the Village Hall so that the Local History Archive is available for all.

Young Saplings ready for planting

In the Autumn of 2019 West Hoathly Primary School received a selection of tree seedlings from the Woodland Trust.

These have been subsequently repotted twice and lovingly looked after by the School Gardening Club.

The saplings are approximately 75cm tall.

They are:

i) Silver birch ( Betula pendula )

ii) Wild Cherry ( Prunus avium ).

iii) Rowan ( Sorbus aucuparia ).
