West Hoathly Parish – Recycling & Refuse

Recycling Facilities
(back to village directory)

There is a special recycling point in Finche Field which takes:
  • Bottles, plastics and newspapers
  • Clothes (on behalf of the British Heart Foundation)
  • Books (on behalf of the British Heart Foundation)
Reminder:
Don't leave any other rubbish in the recycling area.  Please make sure all cardboard boxes and carrier bags are taken away. These are not removed when the facilities are emptied and someone else, usually the Parish Clerk, has to tidy up the area.

The following can be left at the Parish Council Office during office hours:

  • Used stamps
  • Foreign coins
  • Clean foil
  • Inkjet cartridges
Twice a year a refuse freighter comes to Finche Field for larger items of rubbish. See events for times.

After Christmas trees can be left at Finche Field for removal and recycling. See events for times.

Mid Sussex Council also promote kerbside recycling through their kerbside recycling scheme and have a scheme to collect garden waste.

To find out what happens to the rubbish we recycle Mid Sussex have provided some information on the Materials Recycling Facility.
